How Much Stress Can You Handle?
Stress is something that everyone deals with almost every day. Some people have more to challenge them and others have less. Everyone has a different kind of stress, but all of us have some stress in our lives. Some stress, in fact, is actually good.
While everyone has stress, not everyone deals with it the same. Everyone has a different stress threshold – that level of stress where it becomes unbearable. Do you know where your threshold is?
It helps to know your limits. And it helps even more to know when to get help before you reach your limit. That’s where stress reduction techniques come in. If you start to deal with stress before you reach your threshold, before it becomes a major health issue, then you’ll be happier, more relaxed and healthier.
Don’t wait until stress becomes a problem. Learn how to manage it before it manages you.
How Many Cleansing Techniques Do You Need?
As stated yesterday, cleansing is an important aspect of yoga. But how many different ways can you use cleansing for your health and relaxation?
Here are a few cleansing techniques you might consider:
- Teeth cleaning – If you use a natural toothpaste for brushing your teeth then you’ll treat your gums and teeth better and be in overall better health. A natural toothpaste uses herbs and essential oils, which are better for you than toothpaste full of unnatural chemicals.
- Tongue cleaner – A tongue cleaner will scrape the mucous off your tongue and get rid of the germs that cause bad breath and gingivitis.
- Enema – Personal hygiene is one of the most important aspects of yoga and colon cleaning is a major part of that. At-home enemas have become more popular in recent years as the benefits of personal cleansing have become better known.
- Natural soap – We talked about this yesterday. Natural soap is made of herbs and essential oils, not chemicals.
These are just a few of that natural stress relief and yoga cleansing techniques you can try. Keep in good health with the best cleansing tools available.
Cleansing As A Yoga Technique
There is a common misunderstanding about yoga. Some people tend to think it is some kind of meditation exercise that leads to a religious or spiritual experience. While that may be true on some level, yoga is more than just a technique to enter the spiritual realm. There is a physical element to it as well.
One of the most important aspects of yoga is cleanliness. Cleansing of the body is considered by most practitioners to be a necessary part of yoga.
One of the most important cleansing products for anyone is soap. The problem with a lot of commercial soaps is that they trick you into thinking you are clean when really you just smell good. Smelling good and being clean are two different things.
To effectively clean and disinfect your skin, you should use a soap that is made of natural ingredients, not chemicals. The best soaps to use for skin cleansing are soaps made of herbs and essential oils. These include Neem, Basil, Turmeric and Sandalwood. Each of these herbs has specific qualities that are good for healthy skin. When you think of yoga you should also include cleanliness and cleansing as an overall element of physical and mental health.
Why Breathing Exercises Are Important
Breathing is an important physiological and psychological function. It isn’t just because it provides oxygen for the blood cells. There are other reasons breathing is important.
Breathing also serves as a relaxation technique. It not only relieves the body of stress, but it also takes worry off the mind. That’s why some religions stress the importance of meditation. It is an important spiritual discipline for several religions, but it’s also an important physical discipline and it’s backed up by science.
When you take time out for meditative breathing exercises, your body responds by taking in the oxygen and distributing it to various parts of your body through the circulation system. The oxygen rejuvenates your body’s cells and gives them new life. The body’s muscles and nerves respond by being happy again. A signal is sent to the brain through the central nervous system to notify it of the relaxed state of the body. This causes the brain to refocus on the natural part of life instead of the heaviness of worry.
When you want to relax, take a few minutes out for some breathing exercises.
Meditation Morning Through Evening
Meditation is one of the best ways to reduce stress in the morning, throughout the day and at night. In fact, people who meditate several times a day report less stress overall than people who don’t meditate at all.
The best way to practice meditation is to set aside three times a day when you can be alone to enter into a state of mental relaxation and practice your breathing exercises. You don’t have to sit in any particular position or perform any rituals. Just a few minutes of relaxation and breathing at your desk is enough. As long as you are consistent and do it on time at the same time every day, you’ll notice a significant difference in your stress levels.
The first time you meditate every day should be before you go to work or before you have breakfast. If possible, get up about 10 minutes early and find a nice, quiet place to sit and relax the mind before getting on with the day.
Next time, either just before lunch or just after, sit quietly at your work desk or wherever you are and focus on your breathing for about five minutes. The goal is to relax the mind.
Alternatively, you can do this mid-afternoon, around 2 or 3 p.m.
Your final meditation session should be about an hour after dinner. After your day is done it is time to wind down. Put the kids to bed and find that quiet location you used in the morning and perform your meditation exercises.
A regular routine of meditation will clear your mind and make you more relaxed, reducing your stress.
