While everyone has stress, not everyone deals with it the same. Everyone has a different stress threshold – that level of stress where it becomes unbearable. Do you know where your threshold is?

It helps to know your limits. And it helps even more to know when to get help before you reach your limit.

As stated yesterday, cleansing is an important aspect of yoga. But how many different ways can you use cleansing for your health and relaxation?

Here are a few cleansing techniques you might consider:

Teeth cleaning – If you use a natural toothpaste for brushing your teeth then you’ll treat your gums and teeth better and be in overall better health. A natural toothpaste uses herbs and essential oils, which are better for you than toothpaste full of unnatural chemicals.

Tongue cleaner – A tongue cleaner will scrape the mucous off your tongue and get rid of the germs that cause bad breath and gingivitis.

Enema – Personal hygiene is one of the most important aspects of yoga and colon cleaning is a major part of that. At-home enemas have become more popular in recent years as the benefits of personal cleansing have become better known.

Natural soap – We talked about this yesterday. Natural soap is made of herbs and essential oils, not chemicals.

These are just a few of that natural stress relief and yoga cleansing techniques you can try. Keep in good health with the best cleansing tools available.

There is a common misunderstanding about yoga. Some people tend to think it is some kind of meditation exercise that leads to a religious or spiritual experience. While that may be true on some level, yoga is more than just a technique to enter the spiritual realm. There is a physical element to it as well.

One of the most important aspects of yoga is cleanliness. Cleansing of the body is considered by most practitioners to be a necessary part of yoga.

One of the most important cleansing products for anyone is soap. The problem with a lot of commercial soaps is that they trick you into thinking you are clean when really you just smell good. Smelling good and being clean are two different things.

To effectively clean and disinfect your skin, you should use a soap that is made of natural ingredients, not chemicals. The best soaps to use for skin cleansing are soaps made of herbs and essential oils. These include Neem, Basil, Turmeric and Sandalwood. Each of these herbs has specific qualities that are good for healthy skin. When you think of yoga you should also include cleanliness and cleansing as an overall element of physical and mental health.

Breathing is an important physiological and psychological function. It isn’t just because it provides oxygen for the blood cells. There are other reasons breathing is important.

Breathing also serves as a relaxation technique. It not only relieves the body of stress, but it also takes worry off the mind. That’s why some religions stress the importance of meditation. It is an important spiritual discipline for several religions, but it’s also an important physical discipline and it’s backed up by science.

When you take time out for meditative breathing exercises, your body responds by taking in the oxygen and distributing it to various parts of your body through the circulation system. The oxygen rejuvenates your body’s cells and gives them new life. The body’s muscles and nerves respond by being happy again. A signal is sent to the brain through the central nervous system to notify it of the relaxed state of the body. This causes the brain to refocus on the natural part of life instead of the heaviness of worry.

When you want to relax, take a few minutes out for some breathing exercises.

Meditation is one of the best ways to reduce stress in the morning, throughout the day and at night. In fact, people who meditate several times a day report less stress overall than people who don’t meditate at all.

The best way to practice meditation is to set aside three times a day when you can be alone to enter into a state of mental relaxation and practice your breathing exercises. You don’t have to sit in any particular position or perform any rituals. Just a few minutes of relaxation and breathing at your desk is enough. As long as you are consistent and do it on time at the same time every day, you’ll notice a significant difference in your stress levels.

The first time you meditate every day should be before you go to work or before you have breakfast. If possible, get up about 10 minutes early and find a nice, quiet place to sit and relax the mind before getting on with the day.

Next time, either just before lunch or just after, sit quietly at your work desk or wherever you are and focus on your breathing for about five minutes. The goal is to relax the mind.

Alternatively, you can do this mid-afternoon, around 2 or 3 p.m.

Your final meditation session should be about an hour after dinner. After your day is done it is time to wind down. Put the kids to bed and find that quiet location you used in the morning and perform your meditation exercises.

A regular routine of meditation will clear your mind and make you more relaxed, reducing your stress.

If you have children who are dealing with stress you might want to turn them onto yoga. It has the same stress reducing effects on children as it does on adults and teaching children lifelong habits like how to reduce stress using meditative and yoga techniques is the best thing you can do for them.

You may think that children don’t have a lot to worry about because they don’t have bills, a job or adult-level responsibilities, but children do worry. They can sometimes stress themselves out over school work, sibling rivalries, playground bullies and, yes, even parental control. It may not seem real to you, but to your children the stress is as real as your stress is to you. Don’t diminish it or reduce it to a triviality. Help them to deal with it.

Your children deserve to be stress free. Help them deal with stress by learning yoga techniques. You’ll see a marked improvement in their demeanor, school work and the way they interact with others.

Yesterday we said ‘mind games, not head games’. But it boils down to more than just relaxation versus stress. Head games is the source of stress for a lot of people so it is behooves us to understand just what it is about head games that causes stress.

First, the obligatory definition. The word “head game” has been used to signify a particular type of deception. When people use psychological illusion or deception to “get into the mind” of others or to toy with someone else’s emotions, that is a head game. While some people can handle the stress better than others, there is no doubt that head games do cause stress. And it’s not natural.

Any time the human body or mind experiences two opposing sensations it creates stress. It often is a harmless form of acute stress, but prolonged it can lead to chronic stress.

Emotional and psychological head games have a tendency to drive people’s nerves in two different directions. A person can feel one emotion one minute then a completely different sensation the next. And there is another person pulling the strings. It can cause someone to feel used and objectified. The mind knows this is an injustice and it leads to anger and shame.

If you find yourself a victim of head games often and needing to relieve yourself of the stress that comes after, get in touch with a stress relief method that is designed for putting the mind at ease. Don’t let it continue.

There is a clear difference between stress relief and stress prevention. Prevention focuses on ensuring you don’t experience stress in the first place. Relief focuses on diminishing the effects of stress after it has set in.

Though there is a clear difference between the two, many of the techniques for relieving stress can also be used for prevention. For instance, meditation is a great mind and body relaxer. Simply exercising your mind and participating in breathing exercises on a regular basis can prevent stress from taking over your life.

Yoga, too, can be used for stress prevention. A regular routine of yoga and relaxation technique can relieve you of stress before you need actual relief. You can drive away stress before it comes.

Any technique that is effective for stress relief can also be used for stress prevention. As you know, an ounce prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Stress is difficult to deal with, but it is a natural part of life. And, when it comes to relief, there are six primary natural stress relievers. Any of them work as well as the next, but you should be familiar with them all. The six types of natural stress relief are:

Good nutrition – There is no substitute for good nutrition. It’s all about giving your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs to be in good health. If your body is healthy you will have less stress in your life.

Massage – A good massage can get your muscles relaxed and ease your nerves. But don’t settle for just any massage. See a professional who has been trained in the techniques of muscle relaxation massage.

Vitamins – Vitamin supplements should not be used as a substitute for good nutrition, but if you are suffering from chronic stress then you can supplement a good diet with the right vitamins and nutrients. One great natural supplement with natural ingredients is Reloramax.

Herbs – Herbs are different than vitamins. They are natural plants that can be harvested for health benefits. Such herbs include ginseng, gotu kola and licorice. Herbs can be used to treat stress and anxiety.

Meditation – Meditation is a practice that has been used for thousands of years to relax the body and mind. It is a great natural stress relief technique and can be used in conjunction with several other stress relief methods mentioned here.

Aromatherapy – Aromatherapy is the art of using scents to calm the mind and ease the body of stress. Three very useful aromas for relieving stress are chamomile, juniper and lavender.

Stress relief comes in many different shapes and sizes, but natural stress relief is the best.
