Meditation Morning Through Evening
Meditation is one of the best ways to reduce stress in the morning, throughout the day and at night. In fact, people who meditate several times a day report less stress overall than people who don’t meditate at all.
The best way to practice meditation is to set aside three times a day when you can be alone to enter into a state of mental relaxation and practice your breathing exercises. You don’t have to sit in any particular position or perform any rituals. Just a few minutes of relaxation and breathing at your desk is enough. As long as you are consistent and do it on time at the same time every day, you’ll notice a significant difference in your stress levels.
The first time you meditate every day should be before you go to work or before you have breakfast. If possible, get up about 10 minutes early and find a nice, quiet place to sit and relax the mind before getting on with the day.
Next time, either just before lunch or just after, sit quietly at your work desk or wherever you are and focus on your breathing for about five minutes. The goal is to relax the mind.
Alternatively, you can do this mid-afternoon, around 2 or 3 p.m.
Your final meditation session should be about an hour after dinner. After your day is done it is time to wind down. Put the kids to bed and find that quiet location you used in the morning and perform your meditation exercises.
A regular routine of meditation will clear your mind and make you more relaxed, reducing your stress.
